A body has been recovered from a Wellington house after firefighters were called to a blaze this morning.
The blaze was reported by several people about 8.30am and the body was recovered shortly before 10am, a fire service communications spokesman said.
The building is the same halfway house at the centre of a murder investigation after Kelly Whakaneho Noema, 37, was found dead there with stab wounds in August.
A 43-year-old man was charged over the murder and is on remand awaiting further court appearances.
Today's fire was described as being relatively minor, but it was attended by five fire appliances and is now being investigated by fire safety officers and police.
