KEY POINTS:
Police have confirmed that a body found in dense bush at Titirangi on Sunday is that of missing woman Belinda Michelle Wilson.
The 39-year-old had not been seen since leaving her West Auckland home on January 2.
Ms Wilson was a beneficiary with a history of minor mental heath issues.
Her mother reported her missing on January 4 and police began investigating, conducting a search in the large bush area behind her Mahoe Street home.
Ms Wilson's body was found on Sunday when a 40-person team re-entered the bush, searching a 3-4km area which had so far been unexplored.
A post mortem examination was done yesterday.
Police said her death was not being treated as suspicious.
Waitemata police spokesman Kevin Loughlin thanked the local community for their help during the investigation.
