Police have found a body near the property of Dannevirke man William Kerry Power, who has been missing since Tuesday.
A police search and rescue team found the body, believed to a male, about 10am today.
Mr Power's family have been advised and formal identification processes along with a post mortem will take place shortly, police said.
William Kerry Power was last seen by a family member at his home and police today began searching the wider area around the property.
Senior Sergeant Nathan Davis, of Tararua police, said two search and rescue teams made up of staff from Palmerston North, Wanganui, and Levin, as well as a police dog, were involved in the extensive ground search.
