Rowers out for early morning training found a woman's body in a river in west Auckland.
The body was discovered in the Whau River near the West End Rowing Club, Avondale about 8am today.
The woman's body was floating in the water and did not appear to have been there for very long, police said.
The body had been recovered and the police maritime unit searched the shore near the rowing club for clues.
Police said there appeared to be nothing suspicious about the woman's death.
