Body found in Waihou River

Police on Saturday found a body in the Waihou River in the Waikato near where an elderly Auckland man went missing on October 11.

Dale Frankum, 68, was swept away in treacherous rapids when he and his 71-year-old companion were kayaking on the river.

Police believe a sign warning water-users of dangerous rapids had been deliberately removed.
