The body of a woman found today in a Dunedin house may have been there for some time, police said.
The body was found around midday on Burnett Street, Calton Hill.
The house is cordoned off by police as they investigate the circumstances of the death.
However, police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the death and it appeared the body had been there for some time.
Dunedin Clutha Waitaki Relieving Area Commander Inspector Jason Guthrie said the woman appeared to be aged in her early 40s.
