A post-mortem examination will be carried out today on a body found in bush in Lower Hutt yesterday.
Police said the body was found in bush behind Wilcox Grove in the suburb of Naenae.
The cause of death was not yet known and a post-mortem examination was expected to take place today.
The body has not been formally identified but police suspect it may be Lesley Kreibel, a 55-year-old man who was reported missing in November last year.
Mt Kreibel's family has been informed.
