One person is dead in what is thought to have been a quad bike crash on a remote farm at the top of the South Island.
Emergency services were called to the scene at a rural property in Rakopi, near Golden Bay, shortly before 8am this morning, southern police communications shift inspector Peter Hegarty said.
The circumstances of the crash are still being investigated, however it appeared to be an accident on a farm involving a quad bike, he said.
Only one person was involved.
