Police searching the Inanghua River in Westland for the missing occupant of a car which crashed this morning have found a body.
Constable Brett Simon said two people were able to get out of the vehicle -- which left State Highway 7 at Black's Point, 3km east of Reefton -- but the third was not immediately located.
Newstalk ZB later reported the body of an 18-year-old woman had been found in the river. The body was located in about 3.5m of water.
She was named as was Danielle Marie Hunt.
Police and fire services carried out a search of the shoreline and an area search was also completed by helicopter.
A police crash analyst was at the scene.
