The bodies of James and Raymond Fleet have been officially identified and will be returned to whanau this afternoon.
On Thursday it was announced two bodies had been found in the Mamaku Forest near Rotorua, more than a week after the Mamaku pair went missing.
The post mortems were completed yesterday and police have today confirmed the bodies are that of James, 25, and his uncle Raymond Fleet, 51.
The bodies were being returned to family in Mamaku this afternoon, Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Van Kempen said.
"On Friday local kaumatua carried out a blessing as the bodies were moved from the site where they were found.
