Hundreds of boats, including multimillion-dollar yachts, are forecast to be sold this weekend in Auckland.
More than 20,000 people are expected through the Auckland on Water Boat Show at the Viaduct Harbour - and some visitors will be reaching for their wallets.
The chief executive of the Marine Industry Association, Peter Busfield, said the premier boat show, which opened yesterday, attracted a crowd that included international buyers looking for the newest and best in the industry.
Already, there has been potential sales and Mr Busfield said he expected buyers for everything from a 3m tinnie to $5 million luxury craft.
"There was a good crowd today and exhibitors are pretty impressed. People are looking at buying boats and equipment again ... after a long winter," Mr Busfield said.
