An 8-year-old boy is recovering in Rotorua Hospital after being hit by a car towing a boat on Thursday night.
Police said the Galatea boy was riding a mini-motorbike down a farm race but drove out near the road, clipping the wheel of the boat trailer.
He suffered a broken leg and gashes to his head and arms.
