Lotto winner Trevor Cooper is believed to be the anonymous backer of two young BMX riders.
Cooper's new company, Destination Racing, has sponsored brother-and-sister team Holly and Trent Woodcock-Takurua, who will compete in this week's UCI BMX World Championships alongside Olympic silver-medal winner Sarah Walker.
"Destination Racing approached us before the national champs and asked if we wanted to race for them," Holly said. "They provide bikes and pay travelling costs and everything. It's great because otherwise my Dad would have to pay for it."
Holly said she understood Cooper was the administrator rather than the owner of Destination Racing, but his Facebook page lists Cooper and wife Sharie Marshall as team owners.
The brother-and-sister team started racing as 4-years-olds, and their family maintain the Sunset Coast BMX Track in Pukekohe.
