The shapely machine you see here is a one-off concept car that BMW unveiled at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este classic car show, held on the banks of Lake Como.
It's the product of a joint effort between BMW and Zagato, which they say "fuses the design DNA of the
two companies into a fresh and distinctive whole."
The concept is fully road legal and its aluminium body was built entirely by hand. BMW has remained mum on what mechanicals lie beneath that curvy body, stating only that it goes really fast and has a very powerful engine feeding the rear wheels. We reckon it's built around the Z4 chassis.
Like that aforementioned roadster, this coupé has a long bonnet. Its design blends traditional BMW design cues like twin-circular headlights and a double-kidney grille with signature Zagato features like the 'double bubble' roof and 'Kamm Tail' rear end. Its side window design, which slants upwards to meet the rear window, is another typical Zagato motif.
The final assertion of its muscular nature comes in the form of propeller-inspired five-spoke, 19-inch alloys the fill the shapely wheel arches.
