If the eclectic mix of Buddy Guy, Keb Mo, KT Tunstall and Wilco sounds like your dream festival line up, Merry Christmas.
The creator of Australia's acclaimed Byron Bay Bluesfest Peter Noble has announced Bluesfest New Zealand. It will be held in Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula on March 22.
Mr Noble says Bluesfest organisers have been talking about bringing it to New Zealand for years and now feel it is time to "cross the pond".
He says it will offer New Zealand something different. He says it is not a kids' festival for under-25s, but something for music listeners who like to dance.
New Zealanders Hollie Smith, The Checks and Midge Marsden will also perform at Bluesfest New Zealand.
