Blues captain Jerome Kaino receives his new playing jersey from teenage patient Tyrone Banks at Starship children's hospital.
The Blues, who play their first game of the Super Rugby season against the Chiefs at QBE North Harbour Stadium tomorrow, will carry the Starship Foundation logo on their backs this year.
At the uniform launch yesterday, each of the players was presented with a jersey by a Starship child patient, as part of the deal sponsored by Barfoot & Thompson.
The team will also provide Blues "experiences" for patients, families and staff this year.
Tyrone, 13, was supposed to start at Western Heights High School in Rotorua this year, but is awaiting hip surgery instead.
