Police investigating the murder of Kiwi-born nurse Michelle Beets have set up a secondary crime scene at a toilet block near her home.
The 57-year-old Sydney nursing manager was found dead on the veranda of her Chatswood home on Tuesday night.
The homicide squad has established a second crime scene after a dark substance was found at a nearby toilet block, according to ABC News.
The Daily Telegraph reported that a trail of blood leading to the door of the building had been found.
However, the council was unable to provide CCTV footage after discovering that a camera pointing directly at the door was not working.
Police did seize several objects from inside the building, which they confirmed was a secondary crime scene.
But when asked if a murder weapon was among the confiscated items, Acting Superintendent Mick Sheehy said: "I'd prefer not to say."
He confirmed police were going through hospital files of former patients, including mental health patients.
Ms Beets also had mechanical trouble with her car prior to her death and called a mechanic - who has since given a statement to police - to help start her Toyota Camry.
