Supermarket shopping came with a free blood pressure test on Saturday.
During Blood Pressure Awareness Day on Saturday paramedics checked shoppers' blood pressure at New World and Pak'n Save supermarkets in Wairarapa.
This is the sixth year of the Stroke Foundation's campaign that aims to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke across the country.
Rotary clubs from Masterton, Masterton South, Pahiatua and Carterton provided volunteers to support the Wellington Free Ambulance in carrying out the tests.
Rotary spokesman Alan Kirkham said many people with high blood pressure probably did not know they had it.
