Stylised home built alongside TV show houses is on market.

It could be the best house on The Block but it hasn't been touched by contestants on the popular home renovation show.

A designer home built on a spare corner section on The Block NZ's Belmont site is finally finished and is now on the market.

The 451sq m section at 1G Eversleigh Rd was sold privately in early 2013 for $380,000 and builders have been working on the architecturally designed property since.

Bayleys agent Victoria Bidwell described the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home as having a "Ralph Lauren-inspired interior" and "design elements that fill every room". The highly stylised property has polished concrete floors with underfloor heating, vertical Siberian larch and steel cladding, imported light fittings, two bespoke bathrooms with imported tiles and floor-to-ceiling sliders leading to an outdoor entertaining area.

"I sell a lot of high-end properties and this is of the same standard as some around $4 million," Bidwell said.

"The owner has gone to a lot of trouble with every design aspect and it is quite an exceptional property."

The neighbouring Block houses have council valuations ranging from $1,075,000 to $1,125,000.

Meanwhile, filming for the new series of The Block NZ is well under way. Four houses on the corner of Haig and Renfrew Sts in Mt Roskill are being prepared for contestants.

Four character homes have been moved on to the site and master bedrooms and en suites are being added into the roof cavities by professional builders.

Unrenovated homes in the area on similar land parcels are selling for close to $1m.
