A weekend blitz on Auckland roads caught more than 100 drink-drivers, leaving police disappointed the message against drink-driving is not getting through.
Of the 6850 vehicles stopped, 107 people were detected driving with excess breath alcohol.
Several drivers returned a reading of more than 1000 micrograms per litre of breath, with the permitted level at 400mcg.
Twenty-six people who tested positive for excess breath alcohol were teenagers.
