KEY POINTS:
Police are hunting two teenage boys who attacked a blind and disabled woman at the weekend.
The pair approached the 48-year-old woman as she sat in her wheelchair waiting for a mobility van after attending mass at a Paraparaumu church on Saturday night.
She told The Dominion Post she felt a shove on her wheelchair and one of teens said "Where is the...money, bitch? We know you have money'."
She said her nine-day-old wheelchair was broken as her attackers violently pushed and shoved her.
"I just froze, I did not know if one of them had a knife. I just said I did not have any money, I did not want to provoke them."
She said she was concerned for her guide dog, Astra, who started growling during the attack.
"I am sure if they had been touching or harming me she would have bitten. We have a close bond, she is a wonderful dog."
The attackers fled when two children came over to see Astra. Kapiti police appealing for witnesses to the attack.
