KEY POINTS:
A Blenheim man is dead after becoming caught in a shingle sorting machine today.
The accident happened at noon, at Powell Contractors in Renwick, 10km west of Blenheim, when the man became caught between the conveyor arm and the main body of the machine, The Marlborough Express reported.
Police said the man, aged in his 40s, was the only one involved and there were no witnesses, but it was thought he may have been trying to move one of the conveyor arms.
Despite resuscitation attempts, he died at the scene.
The man's name would not be released until his next of kin were informed.
