Masterton firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out in bark at the Juken New Zealand mill on Wednesday night.
A fire communications spokesman said a single fire crew was scrambled to the Norfolk Rd mill soon after 7.15pm on Wednesday to douse the fire, which had erupted in piled bark at the premises. The Carterton water tanker was also called to the site, the spokesman said, and the blaze was extinguished within 20 minutes.
