All people feared to be inside a house that was on fire in Hamilton are safe and accounted for.
Firefighters were called to a house on Scotland Place, in the Hillcrest area of the city, at around 7.25pm.
Neighbours feared the occupants of the house were still inside, Paul Radden of the Fire Service northern communications centre said.
However, firefighters had now ascertained that no-one was inside the house at the time, and all occupants have been accounted for, he said. No one was injured.
The fire was now under control and mostly extinguished, he said. But firefighters were still on the scene dampening down hotspots.
