Fire investigators are at a mechanical workshop in Christchurch after a blaze tore through the building early this morning.
Seven fire trucks from Christchurch City, Woolston and Addington were called to the scene of the fire on Clarkson Ave in Christchurch, about 2.50am, southern fire communications shift manager Tim Reynolds said.
He said the building, a mechanical workshop, was well involved in fire by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.
No one was injured, Mr Reynolds said.
The cause of the fire remained unknown, and a fire investigator was at the scene this morning, he said.
