Former Oamaru man Blair James O'Connor was working as an accountant in the Perpetual Trust office on the first floor of the Pyne Gould Corporation building when the earthquake struck.
The 34-year-old had worked there since 2004.
He is survived by his wife Marie and children Caleb and Charlotte.
