A passenger behaving in a "bizarre" manner delayed a flight from Dunedin airport this morning, and found herself detained by police on arrival in Christchurch.
A witness said the woman was behaving in an erratic manner and refused to obey the instructions of cabin crew on Air New Zealand flight NZ 5746.
The flight did take off 15 minutes late, and passengers were told the plane might need to return to Dunedin if the passenger's behaviour became worse.
The flight made it to Christchurch without further incident, and police dealt with the woman after she got off the plane.
