The Anglican Bishop of Auckland wants parents, communities and the church to raise their voices to protect children against the scourge of methamphetamine.
"Gangs and others push this addictive stimulant and teenagers are often the targets of free samples," the Rt Rev John Paterson said.
"Labelling it as 'P' is a cynical marketing ploy, giving the impression of a clean and wholesome drug, when it is nothing but evil," said Bishop Paterson.
Delegates at the Auckland Anglican Diocese synod were to consider today how to add the church's support to stop the spread of methamphetamine and related offending.
