One man has been arrested after a 21st birthday party got out of hand.
Police were called to a party on Friday night at Freyberg St, Masterton, after receiving reports that about 40 people were involved in a fight.
Senior Sergeant Mike Sutton said there was a number of uninvited guests at the party.
"There were reports of general disorder and people fighting. Our staff got there and spoke to the occupants and there were some uninvited people that caused problems."
It was initially reported that someone had been bottled but that did not appear to be the case, Mr Sutton said.
