KEY POINTS:
A New Zealand music video depicting young children binge-drinking milk has been banned by TVNZ.
The Hot Grits'; video 'Headlights' features about 30 children having a night out and drinking from shot glasses and funnels.
TVNZ says the video was banned because it risked breaching broadcasting standards by exploiting children, but Hot Grits' lead singer Barnie Duncan says the ban is heavy-handed.
He says the point of the video is to demonstrate how adults can behave when they are out drinking.
Duncan says he is not losing sleep over the ban, as the video is on regular rotation on three other New Zealand music channels.
TVNZ has not banned a New Zealand music video since 1987.
