New passenger vehicle sales have had their biggest year since 1986.
All sectors of New Zealand's buzzing vehicle market continued to strengthen with new imported commercials hitting the highest number of year-to-date sales since 1982.
The new passenger vehicles market is also on fire - up 10 percent on the same time last year.
Motorcycle sales are also up on last year, with the market picking up speed as it heads into the traditionally-busy warmer months - perhaps signalling confidence in continued positive economic forecasts.
Motor Trade Association spokesperson Hamish Stuart says every sector is alive at the moment, signalling people have money to spend.
