His actions were "not his normal character at all'', she said.
Peach and his wife separated early last year, and he and Ms Oeti had had an on and off relationship since they met at work in 2006.
Peach, a property developer, told police he used his brother's details when he had applied for a Particulars of Marriage document, according to the police summary of facts. The document is needed by couples who want to marry and is signed by the bride and groom at their wedding.
Once Peach received the document in his brother's name, he used a computer to put his own details on the document. He used his home printer to print off a new document and told police he later threw the printer away.
Peach also told police that he used a friend's divorce certificate to make up a Family Court dissolution of marriage document, according to the police summary of the case viewed by APNZ.
On December 17, Peach married Ms Oeti in front of her family and friends.
Two days later he walked into Howick Police Station and told police what he had done.
"He explained that the circumstances of his problem as being due somewhat to the family pressure placed on Ms Oeti and her family's religious convictions,'' the police summary said.
He told police that Ms Oeti knew of his marriage breakdown and that he had not left his wife for the legally required two years.
"The defendant stated that his marriage had been over in the eyes of God...''.
Mrs peach said she still hadn't spoken to her husband since news of the second marriage emerged, she said they would divorce.
She said she would wait for him to contact her.
"I'll just have to wait and see.''
Her husband had been an excellent father to their two adult children, she said earlier this month.
"I really support Rod in this. I know it probably sounds really strange, but I do because he is really a good man. I know it's wrong in the eyes of the law, but there are deeper issues involved.''
Mrs Peach said she didn't know when or why her husband remarried.
"It's totally out of character for him. He is a really good man, he's been a really good father to the children, it's totally out of character. It's wrong, he is a good man. It's very, very, very strange.''
When previously asked if the allegations fitted her husband's character, Mrs Peach said: "I would have said no, but maybe I didn't know him at all.''
