The man in charge of the nursing profession in New Zealand quit after racking up travel and expense bills double that of officials in similar roles, it was reported yesterday.
Mark Jones resigned from the Ministry of Health the week before Christmas.
According to information obtained by Radio New Zealand, Mr Jones spent nearly $40,000 over a 16-month period to December.
Most other chief advisers and directors spend on average $18,000.
