BMX ace Brian Anzellotti pulls a forward flip at the 2006 Big Boys Toys at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland yesterday - part of the live entertainment at a three-day event for boys who refuse to grow up and want the latest gadgetry money can buy.
"Obviously Big Boys Toys is for things like V8 cars, big boats and flash toys and gadgets," said event organiser Lawrence Perkins. The 50,000 people who attended the expo were proof that "there is definitely a market for this kind of stuff", he said.
Among the play things was a car simulator valued at $500,000. "It's like you're really racing in a F1 or World Rally car and you get all the bonuses of the g-force, shocks and bumps," said Mr Perkins.
