A fire that broke out at an Otara bitumen plant earlier today is now out, but fire crews are still keeping watch on hot spots.
Fire communications spokesman Jaron Phillips said although the fire had been extinguished, nine fire trucks were still on site monitoring hot spots.
He said the crew was likely to be scaled down to four trucks throughout the night, who would continue to supervise the scene into tomorrow.
