"I for one couldn't afford to buy two capsules for my twin girls. I currently use the service. Will be sad to see it go. Who will we turn to for having our kids safety checked?
"People in Farmers and Warehouse know nothing about installs other than what's in the manual."
Cath O'Driscoll said: "This is the biggest mistake, so many children will be put at risk because there parents can't afford to buy a seat."
Jen Bhati said it was a shame.
"We were home for the birth of my daughter and the car seat I had bought was not suitable despite the store's assurances.
"Not having the finances to purchase a new one, I hired one from Plunket until our return overseas.
"The car seat aside, the support and knowledge of the car seat team is completely invaluable.
"It's a shame to stop this service but understandable. Shame a car seat company didn't get in behind it. It would be fantastic marketing for them ..."
Dana Wishnowsky said: "This is so wrong, that means there will be so many kids put in cars without the proper restraint, more lives lost.
"I used a Plunket capsule but since returning it have brought second hand."
Kayla Murray said people could still buy a seat.
"Your baby, your responsibility. Find out your pregnant, put one on layby. You pay Plunket weekly instalments, so just do a layby ... pretty simple and not hard."
Kennedy Gray responded: "What if a mum has triplets and can't afford three car seats? Get of your high horses mums, not everybody's perfect and money is tight."
