Seventy New Zealand children are in the running to attend a global millennium summit at Walt Disney World in America.
They have been nominated for the Millennium Dreamers Awards, an initiative by McDonald's and Disney in association with Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation).
A judging panel will select the 10-member New Zealand delegation in January to join 2000 young people from throughout the world for the three-day conference in May.
Selection will be based on the creativity, inspirational value and impact of their contribution to the community.
Winners will be announced at the end of January.
