Unseasonally rainy weather has damaged pre-Christmas strawberry crops in the Waikato.
Big Berry proprietor Bill Patton said water damage meant a high rejection rate in packing.
Murray Flay, of Flay's Berry Gardens in Te Awamutu, said the wet weather was the worst he could recall for raspberries, blackberries and boysenberries.
