Welfare benefits, superannuation and student allowances will rise by 2.7 per cent from April 1, in line with inflation, the Government said yesterday.
The increase equated to the rise in the cost of living for 2004 as measured by the Consumer Price Index, Employment Minister Steve Maharey and Health Minister Annette King said.
Income thresholds for community services card-holders would also rise.
