Belfast Pool in Christchurch will reopen after it was controversially closed due to unacceptable behaviour by local youths.
The outdoor pool was closed only four days into the summer season late last month after the return of a group of youths who the Christchurch City Council says had behaved in a threatening, intimidating and abusive manner the year before.
They are accused of continuing that behaviour this year and after the resignation of lifeguards the council says it was forced to close the pool.
Recreation and Sports manager John Filsell says the council, police and the Belfast Community Network have met and resolved to reopen the pool with the support of the community. New staff have been hired.
