Hundreds of bottles of beer were left broken and strewn across State Highway 25 south of Auckland after a truck and car collided, injuring three people, early today.
Both drivers were seriously injured and flown to Waikato Hospital via helicopter, and a passenger in the car received moderate injuries.
The fully-laden truck was lying on its side after the crash, blocking SH25 between Miranda Back Road and Miranda Front Road. Diversions were in place around the crash scene after the collision about 6.25am.
Hundreds of bottles of beer were left smashed and strewn in the truck's wake and authorities said a major clean-up was under way.
