British celebrity Heather Mills jetted into Queenstown yesterday to compete in the Winter Games.
The ex-wife of Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is a member of the British Disabled Ski Team and is one of 750 athletes descending on Queenstown and Wanaka for the games, which begin today.
Mills, 45, was too tired to talk to media after a 36-hour flight.
The charity campaigner has a week to recover and enjoy the scenery before she competes in two prestigious World Cup-rated adaptive Slalom events at Coronet Peak.
Mills, who lost part of her left leg in a road accident in 1993, is aiming to secure qualification for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
