Illegal paua, drink-drivers and overstayers were the catch of the day when Fisheries officers teamed up with police and Immigration officials in West Auckland at the weekend.
More than 3200 vehicles were stopped as they left Cornwallis and Huia. A checkpoint on Huia Rd netted 47 people for fisheries offences.
Police said one person had 117 paua that were all undersize. His car was confiscated.
Immigration arrested seven people who were in New Zealand illegally.
