Broadcasts of the BBC World Service on AM in the Auckland region are back on air after an interruption of four days.
The service was due to switch to a new frequency - 810AM - on Thursday night, but a delay in the new frequency being registered by the Registrar of Radio Frequencies prevented it going ahead.
The broadcasts, by the Auckland Radio Trust, began again last night but were again temporarily halted by a technical fault. This has now been fixed.
Vince Geddes, service manager for the trust, said he had received hundreds of phonecalls from listeners asking what had happened and thanked them for their patience.
"It is there, it is sounding good," he said.
Work will continue to improve sound quality over the next few days and equipment is being upgraded.
