White hot and better-looking than the All Blacks - that's Next Top Model judge Colin Mathura-Jeffree's verdict on the New Zealand football team.
Two days before the All Whites kick off their World Cup dream, Mathura-Jeffree said the side had already scored in the sexiness stakes.
"If the All Blacks were walking into a party from one side and the All Whites from the other, the soccer boys would steal the show," he said.
"They're rugged but well-groomed, they all have great bone structure too. There's some amazing symmetry in their faces."
But he insists our rugby stars will always sparkle. "They could look like rhinoceroses and still be our heroes. We're attracted to their strength and sense of power."
While Mathura-Jeffree deemed the All Whites a better-looking team, he gave the top individual prize to All Blacks blindside Victor Vito.
Andy Barron was the best-looking footballer, followed by Tim Brown and Danish import Winston Reid.
But Mathura-Jeffree said none of the players in either team were making the most of their looks.
"It's that tall poppy syndrome coming through. Kiwi guys tend to try fit in by not standing out. It's a reflection of the other person's feelings of inadequacy. I am of the belief that if someone doesn't like the way I look, they shouldn't look at me."
Amanda Betts, co-founder of the Red Eleven model agency, disagreed with Mathura-Jeffree, saying the All Blacks were the winners in the looks stakes.
She said the hottest players were Richie McCaw, Benson Stanley, but "without his clothes on", and Brad Thorn who has "life experience which makes him hot".
Betts said the All Whites were let down by their "hair swirl" dos which made them look like Mr Whippy icecreams.
