A battery charger has been identified as the cause of a fire in central Dunedin yesterday.
Southern region fire investigator Mike Cahill conducted the investigation after firefighters from the Dunedin, Roslyn, Willowbank, and St Kilda brigades extinguished the fire at the house in Haddon Place.
Mr Cahill said the charger was used for motorcycle batteries.
Dunedin senior station officer Kerry McNamara said about 10 per cent of the property had been damaged.
The sole occupant of the house was out at the time.
