The winners of the Keg Back to the Brewery Race on Sunday donated half of their prize money to the community.
The annual race is organised by Tui Brewery and proceeds are donated to charity - this year to community group Pahiatua on Track.
Greg Archibald and his team MacDougalls Pahiatua successfully defended their title, but at the prize-giving afterwards they donated half of the $1000 prize money back to the group.
Mr Archibald led his team over 8km of farmland and varying terrain, including a crossing through the Mangatainoka River, to return an empty beer keg to the Tui Brewery in a time of 35 minutes and 20 seconds.
This was five minutes faster than their 2012 time, and they were closely followed by a team representing the New Zealand Army.
