Dogs and owners have voiced their concerns over the Government's micro-chipping proposal.
A "bark up" has been held at an event titled a "Dog's Breakfast" in Omarama in the Waitaki Valley.
The name reflects what Federated Farmers think of the Dog Control Amendment Act.
Spokesman Charlie Pedersen said around 200 people joined today's protest including mayors, councillors and parliamentarians.
