Bargain hunters are expected to be banging on the doors to get first pick of thousands of items donated to Alzheimers Wairarapa for a giant garage sale fundraiser on Saturday.
Alzheimers Wairarapa president Jenny Baker said as the organisation does not receive any government funding, they fundraise throughout the year with one big event - this year it's the garage sale.
The organisation hopes to raise between $6000 and $8000, which will go towards helping the 82 people with Alzheimers it supports.
Since putting out the call for household goods two months ago, volunteers have collected so many items they have had to triple the space they planned to use.
"It just crept out," said Mrs Baker.
