A bank manager who is accused of robbery always appeared untrustworthy, a teller at the bank claimed today.
Deborah Poa told North Shore District Court she was suspicious of Mark Scott from the moment she met him.
Scott, 39, and his wife Vanessa Scott, 27, are charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping. They allegedly robbed the BNZ bank in Wellsford, north of Auckland, of $130,000 with two others.
She told the court today that when Scott arrived at the bank at the end of last year, she did not trust him.
"There was something about him," she told a depositions hearing.
Ms Poa said Scott was unpredictable. "One minute he would be calm, then he would become quite aggressive."
The hearing was expected to end today when two Justices of the Peace decide if prima facie has been established and the pair should stand trial.
Ms Poa tried to escape when three robbers armed with knives came into the bank on June 20.
The others have admitted their role and will be sentenced next week.
